Pathe Thuis now grants you the option to go to the cinema, at home! Talpa approached us to help them with the creation of this commercial for Pathe Thuis. The idea was to show homes throughout the Netherlands transform into their own personal movie theaters. Despite facing a short turn-around time, we were able to go from animatic to shoot and final VFX production within a period of three weeks.

 

Process

 

We began by creating a 3D animatic in order to have a solid pre-existing edit before the actual shooting day. After filming, our in-house post-production team passed each shot through a process of 3D camera mapping to retrieve usable data points from the footage. This allowed us to seamlessly integrate the required 3D elements into the live action footage. All the movie posters as well as the famous Pathe logo were created by in our studio and incorporated as CG elements to the final piece.
